Kansas Sky #1

Yesterday I was feeling a bit trapped by my surroundings and all I wanted to do was take some pictures. Unfortunately, I was uninspired in my little town because I feel like I've already taken pictures of everything around here. So, I just shot a few of the nearby country. I experimented with opening the shutter as far as I could (as you can see with the yellow flower) and I really like the effect it gives. To me the picture looks almost ethereal. I did bump up the contrast a little, but not much. I'm very excited about tonight because my friend is letting me do a session with her. I'm practicing taking portraits, which as we all know can be very difficult. I'm reading up on all my favorite "how to" blogs so that I can take some good ones! My friend is very beautiful and photogenic, so I feel like she'll make this easy. If they come out OK, I'll post some soon. I have to get her permission first because I promised her that I would!
